When opening the Coding Tree
or Coding Matrix
there is an access violation error message.
PM8: All versions
Sometimes when there is invalid data on the system design or on key codes, PM8 will give an Access violation message when opening the coding windows.
The invalid data could be in a variety of places;
PM8 strictly enforces data to ensure it is valid for the lock system and depth/space data for the system. Legacy systems may have data that is not valid and needs to be fixed.
Why does PM8 not fix the bad data automatically?
There is no one single solution to remedy any bad data. It needs to be considered carefully, and some times, for example when a key has cuts that are not possible, you may need make some choices on the best course of action.
Almost always it is complex to locate and fix the invalid data.
