After committing an inventory supply event with a supplying quantity recorded and an outlet selected, upon releasing an invoice, the error message is shown which stops you from releasing it.
This indicates that your stock level is lower than what you are supplying on the invoice.
To address the issue you can determine the correct stock on hand and perform a stock take of that item.
